My work arises from a preoccupation with fantasy: The myths and legends that contextualize our reality.
By creating large installations I manipulate the environment, and thus the viewers reality. The goal of my art practice is to create a fantastic experience by shocking the viewer out of the routine. Strange objects, surprising hidden treats, and color are my tools. House and tent forms invade the viewers space, allowing an entrance, and encouraging a playful interaction with the work. Strings, fabric, and cardboard emerge from the surface of wall bound paintings and drawings; their geometries extending into real space.
